The Cultural Human Resources Council (CHRC) aims to be at the center of action and reflection in the area of cultural human resources development. CHRC brings together representatives from all cultural disciplines and industries to better meet the training and professional development needs of employers and cultural workers, including artists, technical staff, managers and all other cultural professionals.

The cultural sector includes hundreds of trades and occupations in eight major sub-sectors: performing arts, creative writing and publishing, visual arts and crafts, film and television, broadcasting, digital media, music and sound recording and heritage. There are also employers and employees in thousands of organizations, large and small, for-profit and not-for-profit.

CHRC's mission is to strengthen Canada's cultural workforce by demonstrating leadership, finding innovative solutions to human resource issues and improving the human resource environment of the cultural sector.
